This privacy policy page explains what you need to know. This policy explains what personal information FurShipper collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who is responsible
FurShipper is responsible for personal information collected through furshipper.com and app.furshipper.com. Contact: support@furshipper.com.
2. Information we collect
| Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Name, email, phone number, password (stored securely hashed), account type, and your acceptance of our terms. |
| Customer details | Pickup and delivery addresses, dates, and information about your pet (name, breed, age, weight, health, medication, feeding, photos, and documents you upload). |
| Driver details | Business name, bio, photo, base location and service area, vehicle details and photos, equipment, and verification documents such as ID, driver’s license, insurance and any certifications. |
| Trip information | Trip status updates, pickup and delivery photos and notes, and a Driver’s location while a trip is in progress. |
| Messages and reviews | Chat messages between Customers and Drivers, support tickets, ratings and written reviews. |
| Payments | Payment status, amounts, invoices and refunds. Card numbers are handled by Stripe or PayPal, not FurShipper. If you save a card we keep a token plus the card brand and last four digits. |
| Device and usage | IP address, browser type, pages and actions in the service, and cookies (see our Cookie Policy). When you accept our Terms and Privacy Policy we record the version, time, IP address and browser. |
| Sign-in with Google | If you choose Google sign-in, we receive your name and email address from Google. |
3. How we use it
- To create and secure accounts, and verify Drivers.
- To match Customers with Drivers, show bids and route information, and run bookings and PIN-verified handoffs.
- To take payments, issue refunds and send receipts.
- To send service notifications by in-app alert, email and SMS.
- To moderate chat, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms.
- To provide support, improve the service, and meet legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
- The other party to a booking. Customers see Driver profiles and reviews. After a booking is paid, the Customer and Driver see each other’s name, phone, email and the pet and route details needed for the trip.
- Service providers who help us run FurShipper: Stripe and PayPal (payments), Twilio (email and SMS), Google (Maps, address search and optional sign-in), and our hosting provider.
- Legal and safety. Authorities or others where required by law or to protect people, animals or our rights.
- Business transfers if FurShipper is involved in a merger or sale.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Public information
A Driver’s profile (name or business name, photo, vehicle, equipment, rating and reviews) is visible to Customers. Reviews show the reviewer’s first name and last initial.
6. Location
To show nearby deliveries, a Driver may allow their browser to share location. During an active trip, the Driver’s position is shared with the Customer for that booking. You can turn off location permission in your browser at any time, though some features may not work.
7. Security and retention
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and store sensitive documents privately. No system is perfectly secure. We keep information as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal, tax and dispute-resolution needs, and then delete or anonymize it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Update your profile and contact details in your account.
- Choose which notifications you receive in Notifications settings. Text messages are sent only if you agree, and you can withdraw that at any time (or reply STOP). Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.
- Download your data. Use “Download my data” on your profile page to get a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Delete your account. Use “Delete my account” on your profile page. Your name, email and phone are erased, and uploaded documents and photos are deleted. Bookings, payments and messages are kept without your identity for payment, tax, safety and legal reasons. You can’t delete your account while a delivery is in progress.
- For any other request to access, correct or delete your information, contact support@furshipper.com.
- California residents may have additional rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
9. Children
FurShipper is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
10. Changes
We will post updates here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
How to Actually Use This Privacy Policy
Most of this privacy policy matters only in specific moments (when you’re deciding whether to save a card, whether to enable location for nearby deliveries, or whether to request your data.
If anything in this privacy policy is unclear, or you want to exercise a right it describes that isn’t self-service yet, contact support@furshipper.com directly rather than guessing.
This privacy policy gets revisited whenever FurShipper changes how it collects or shares data, not on a fixed yearly schedule), the version and date at the top of the page are how you know it’s current.
