FurShipper is a marketplace where you post your pet’s trip, verified drivers bid, and you choose who to trust. Here is how pet transport works for customers and drivers.
For customers
- Post your trip. Choose your pet type (dog, cat, horse or other), add your pet’s details, and enter pickup and delivery addresses. It’s free.
- Get bids. Verified drivers respond with their price, pickup and delivery times. You’ll be notified when new bids arrive.
- Compare and chat. Read driver profiles, ratings, reviews, vehicles and equipment. Ask questions in private chat.
- Accept a bid and book. Pay the FurShipper booking fee (and an optional Pet Protection Plan) to confirm. You’ll get private pickup and delivery PINs.
- Hand over your pet. Give the pickup PIN to your driver at pickup and pay the driver’s fee directly to them.
- Follow the trip. See status updates and photos. Give the delivery PIN to whoever receives your pet.
- Review your driver. Rate the trip so other customers can choose confidently.
For drivers
- Register and get verified. Upload your ID or driver’s license and proof of insurance, add your vehicle, and accept the Driver Agreement.
- Start your membership. New drivers can begin with a free trial.
- Find deliveries. Browse open requests by route, pet type and distance, and view them on a map.
- Bid. Send your price and pickup and delivery times. You can update or withdraw a bid.
- Win the booking. When a customer accepts and pays, you get the pet details and contact information.
- Complete the trip. Log each step, verify the PINs, confirm you were paid, and take photos at pickup and delivery.
- Build your rating. Great reviews help you win more bids.
How payment works
Customers pay FurShipper a flat booking fee. The driver’s fee is paid directly between the customer and driver. Drivers keep all of it. See Pricing and Fees.
If plans change
You can cancel a booking before pickup in the app. If a driver cancels, the customer is refunded automatically and can choose another driver. See our Refund Policy.
Ready to start? Customers post a trip in minutes. Drivers register to start bidding.
Why Understanding How Pet Transport Works Matters
Knowing how pet transport works before you book changes how you use the marketplace (you’ll compare more than just price, ask drivers the right questions in chat, and understand why the PIN system exists instead of treating it as a hassle.
The short version: post free, compare real bids, pay one flat fee to confirm.
Drivers go through the same process from the other side), verification, bidding, and PIN-confirmed handoffs (which is part of why the system works for both sides of the marketplace.
The design choice underneath all of it is simple: nobody at FurShipper picks your driver for you. You see the same bids, ratings, and profiles a driver sees about your listing, and the decision stays yours.
None of that requires an app tutorial to understand), if you’ve ever compared quotes for anything online, the pattern will feel familiar within a minute of looking at your first set of bids.
