Safe pet transport starts with your pet’s safety. Here’s how FurShipper verifies drivers and protects every trip from booking to delivery.
Verified drivers only
A driver can’t bid until they have:
- An approved account reviewed by our team
- A verified government ID or driver’s license
- Verified proof of insurance
- At least one registered vehicle
- An active membership
If a required document expires, bidding is switched off until it is renewed and verified. Drivers can also upload extra credentials such as background checks or certifications.
Know who you’re choosing
Every driver has a public profile with their photo, vehicle, equipment, completed deliveries, rating and written reviews from real customers.
Private PINs at pickup and delivery
After booking you receive a pickup PIN and a delivery PIN that only you can see. Your driver must enter them to log the pickup and the delivery, proving the handoff happened with the right people. Never share a PIN before the moment of handoff.
Proof at every step
- Drivers log each step: on the way, picked up, in transit, near destination, delivered.
- Photos are required at pickup (including a photo of your pet) and at delivery.
- Drivers can add care updates for feeding, walking and rest stops.
- While a trip is under way, the driver’s location is shared with you.
Safe communication
Chat happens inside FurShipper. Phone numbers and email addresses are blocked until a booking is confirmed, so you can compare drivers without giving out contact details.
Accountability
- Drivers who miss their committed time are warned and must request an extension. Repeated lateness is reviewed by our team.
- If a driver cancels before pickup, you’re refunded automatically. Drivers who cancel too often lose bidding access until reviewed.
- Our team can suspend accounts that put animals or people at risk.
Payment protection
Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal, and FurShipper never stores your full card number. You can add a Pet Protection Plan for extra coverage.
Report a problem
If something doesn’t feel right, message your driver first, then open a ticket in Help & Support. Choose the Safety category and include your order number. If an animal is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
What Safe Pet Transport Looks Like in Practice
Safe pet transport isn’t one feature (it’s a chain of small checks that all have to hold. A verified driver, a secure crate, a PIN nobody shares early, and a photo at pickup all matter more together than any single one does alone.
If any link in that chain feels off), a driver asking to skip the PIN, a vehicle that doesn’t match the profile (report it immediately through Help & Support rather than waiting to see how the trip goes.
Safe pet transport also means knowing what happens if something goes wrong. That’s exactly what the Booking Guarantee and Refund Policy cover, separately from the safety checks on this page.
None of this replaces your own judgment. A driver profile and a verification badge are a strong signal, not a guarantee), keep messaging in the app and trust your read on a conversation before you hand over a pet.
