Post your horse’s trip and receive bids from verified drivers for horse transport across the United States.

How horse transport works on FurShipper

  1. Describe your horse and the trip. Add weight, temperament, medical or feeding needs and your route and dates.
  2. Get bids. Verified drivers send their price and timing. Check each driver’s vehicle, equipment, rating and reviews.
  3. Book. Choose your driver and pay the FurShipper booking fee. You pay the driver directly.
  4. Follow the trip. Get updates from pickup to delivery, confirmed by private PINs.

Choosing the right driver

Horses need suitable vehicles and experienced handlers. Read each driver’s profile and ask questions in chat before you book. Look for the equipment and services you need, such as secure tie-down, ventilation and climate control, overnight transport, and feeding or medication administration.

Before your horse travels

  • Requirements differ by state. Most interstate horse transport requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) and often a recent negative Coggins test. Check the rules for your origin, route and destination.
  • Tell your driver about feeding, hay and water needs, medications, vices, and how your horse loads.
  • Make sure your horse is in good health for travel and has a well-fitted halter.
  • Agree stops, rest breaks and overnight plans with the driver ahead of time.

PLEASE NOTE

You are responsible for meeting all health, testing and permit requirements for your horse and route.

Protection and peace of mind

Drivers are verified before they can bid. You can add a Pet Protection Plan, use private pickup and delivery PINs, and follow trip updates with photos. If a driver cancels before pickup, your booking fee is refunded automatically.

What does it cost?

You pay a flat FurShipper booking fee based on distance plus the driver’s own fee, paid directly to them. See Pricing and Fees for the full table.
