This terms of use page explains what you need to know. These terms govern your use of FurShipper. By creating an account or using the marketplace, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

FurShipper (“we”, “us”) operates this marketplace. FurShipper is an online marketplace that connects people who need a pet transported (“Customers”) with independent transporters (“Drivers”). FurShipper is not a carrier, does not transport animals, and is not a party to the transport agreement between a Customer and a Driver.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
  • FurShipper is available for pickups and deliveries within the United States only.
  • You must give accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people or animals at risk.

3. How the marketplace works

  1. A Customer posts a delivery request describing the pet, route and dates.
  2. Verified Drivers submit bids. A Customer may accept one bid.
  3. To confirm the booking, the Customer pays FurShipper’s booking fee (and an optional Pet Protection Plan).
  4. The Driver’s fee, the amount in the accepted bid, is paid by the Customer directly to the Driver. FurShipper does not collect, hold or guarantee it.
  5. Pickup and delivery are confirmed with private PINs generated for the booking.

4. Customer responsibilities

  • Give complete and truthful details about your pet: breed, age, weight, temperament, medical needs, medication and feeding instructions.
  • Confirm that pets are older than 8 weeks at the time of transport, as required by USDA rules.
  • Provide any health certificates, vaccination records or permits required for your pet and route. Requirements vary by state and species, and you are responsible for meeting them.
  • Be available at agreed pickup and delivery times and give your pickup and delivery PINs only to the Driver or recipient at the moment of handoff.
  • Pay the Driver’s fee directly, as agreed, and not before pickup.

5. Drivers

Drivers are independent businesses, not employees, agents or partners of FurShipper. Each Driver is bound by the Driver Agreement. FurShipper verifies certain documents (identity, driver’s license, insurance) but does not supervise how a Driver performs a trip, and does not guarantee any Driver’s conduct or availability.

6. Fees and payments

  • The booking fee is set by trip distance and shown before you pay. See our Pricing and Fees page.
  • Payments are processed by our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). FurShipper does not store full card numbers.
  • Driver membership fees are billed to Drivers as described in the Driver Agreement.
  • Coupons and credits have no cash value unless required by law and may be used once.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and Canceled Shipments Policies (for Customers and Drivers), which are part of these terms. In summary: a Driver’s cancellation before pickup is refunded in full; a Customer’s cancellation is refunded in cash, given as a credit, or not refunded depending on how close it is to pickup; and after pickup a booking can only be resolved through support.

8. Rules of use

You agree not to: give false information; harass or threaten others; use the service for anything unlawful or to harm an animal; share or sell account access; attempt to bypass the platform to avoid FurShipper’s fees; scrape or interfere with the service; or post reviews that are false or made in exchange for payment. Phone numbers and email addresses are blocked in chat until a booking is confirmed so that conversations stay on FurShipper.

9. Messages, reviews and content

You own the content you post but grant FurShipper a license to display and use it to run the service. Reviews may be shown publicly on a Driver’s profile. We may remove content that breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines.

10. Notifications and SMS

We send service messages by in-app notification and email. We send text messages (SMS) only if you agree, using a separate optional checkbox at signup or in Notifications settings. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of using FurShipper. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any marketing email or in Notifications settings; you will still receive account and delivery messages.

11. Risk and disclaimers

Transporting animals carries inherent risks. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, FurShipper does not guarantee the quality, safety, timing or legality of any transport arranged through the marketplace, or the accuracy of any user’s statements. Nothing here limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FurShipper is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss arising from a transport arranged between users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to FurShipper for the booking at issue.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify FurShipper against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or your dealings with other users, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Please contact us first at support@furshipper.com so we can try to resolve the issue.

15. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms, and our Privacy Policy, by ticking the box when you create your account. We record the version you accepted, the date and time, your IP address and your browser. If we publish a new version, you will be asked to accept it to keep using FurShipper.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continuing to use FurShipper means you accept them. Questions: support@furshipper.com.

How These Terms of Use Apply to You

These terms of use apply the moment you create an account, whether you’re booking a delivery as a customer or bidding on one as a driver.

If a specific situation isn’t addressed in these terms of use (a delivery gone wrong, a billing dispute, anything unusual), contact support first. Most issues get resolved faster through a real conversation than by re-reading a legal document.
